Tensor LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates BookOne ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
We collect information you provide directly, including your email address or phone number for authentication, display name, reading preferences, and interaction data (chat messages, flashcard reviews, book activations). We also collect device information and usage analytics to improve the App.
When you use the voice conversation feature, the App accesses your device microphone to record your speech. Audio recordings are transmitted to our servers for speech-to-text transcription and are not stored after processing is complete. Microphone access is only activated when you explicitly initiate a voice conversation and can be revoked at any time through your device settings.
We use your information to provide and improve the App, personalize your experience (book recommendations, AI responses), process subscriptions, send service-related communications, and maintain the security of your account. Voice recordings are used solely to transcribe your speech for AI conversations and are discarded immediately after transcription.
Your chat messages, voice transcriptions, and interactions are processed by AI services to generate responses. We may use anonymized interaction patterns to improve AI quality, but we do not share your personal conversations with third parties.
Your data is stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. We use encryption in transit and at rest. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
We use third-party services for authentication (Google, Apple), payment processing (App Store, Google Play), email delivery (Amazon SES), AI processing (Amazon Bedrock), speech-to-text transcription (Amazon Transcribe, OpenAI Whisper), and text-to-speech synthesis (OpenAI TTS). These services have their own privacy policies.
We retain your account data as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You may also request a copy of your data or restrict its processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@bookone.app.
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
